Song Of The Week | Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation – ‘Sunny Afternoon’

By Kieran Webber

Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation are a Swedish band, fronted by Josefin Öhrn alongside Fredrik Joelson who heads up a collection of musicians called The Liberation.

In the last twelve months, the band have experienced a dramatic rise to prominence with their debut album ‘Horse Dance’ and single ‘Take me Beyond’ that received heavy rotation on BBC 6 Music daytime airwaves. Now Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation return with the track ‘Sunny Afternoon’ the second single taken from the album.

‘Sunny Afternoon’ is a psychedelic song of the ages that stands out from the rest, the tribal percussions accompanied by the authoritative vocals backed up by the pulsing guitar create a rhythmic journey into the cosmos.
