Music | Interview | JAXN

By Kieran Webber

Hailing from Manchester JAXN is blurring the lines between psychedelia and electronic music. Still a student the young lad has the whole world at the palm of his hands and if her keeps pumping tracks as strong as ‘Explore’ then he is on to a winner. We had quick chat with him to get to know more behind the man creating these exquisite beats.

CLUNK: Thanks for taking the time to speak to us! How are you? What have you been up to?

JAXN: Good Thank you. I’ve been up late thinking about vocal melodies and music video ideas.

CLUNK: Your single ‘Explore’ was released recently, how has the response been?

JAXN: Well, my Mum thinks its great!

CLUNK: Can you explain to us your process when making music?

JAXN: I often write my songs over a short period of time, then spend weeks making minor adjustments and over thinking the post production procedure.

CLUNK: What was the influence behind your latest release ‘Explore’?

JAXN: I would like to give an intellectual answer, but my influence for ‘EXPLORE’ simply comes from enjoying the joys of being a student.

CLUNK: Was their a particular person or artist that influenced you to make music?

JAXN: I get inspiration from all genres, good music is good music no matter what.

CLUNK: What is your most listened to album of 2016?

JAXN: The Last Shadow Puppets new album. NAO is also a personal favourite of mine.

CLUNK: If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be?

JAXN: Jai Paul, without a shadow of doubt. If he’s even out there, we miss you mate!

CLUNK: Do you have any pet hates?

JAXN: Nah, I love my dog.

CLUNK: Any guilty pleasures?

JAXN: Destiny’s Child and Beetroot.

CLUNK: What are you most excited for this year?

JAXN: Another year of writing music and living the life of a student.

CLUNK: Do you have any strange/gnarly stories to share with us?

JAXN: I use a guitar once played by Prince himself.

CLUNK: Lastly, what can we expect from you in the future?

JAXN: Who knows but it will be memorable!
