After spending over a year in the studio, Swedish musician Hannes Ferm returns under his ensemble HOLY, with hypnotic new single ‘Heard Her’ taken from his highly anticipated album ‘These Worlds Are Yours’ set for release 26th January 2018 via PNKSLM.
For fans of Ty Segall, White Fence and everything in between, HOLY renders an artistic and conceptual approach to the psych-pop genre with this single, establishing a pastiche of musical influence from the likes of Brian Eno and David Bowie.
‘Heard Her’ is a compelling and vibrant number bringing a piece of art to the listener’s ears. The first 10 seconds of the song transports you to a distorted reality, encapsulating intense feelings of childhood nostalgia, confirmed later in the song by a snippet of a youth choir. An abstract composition of samples and melody, HOLY shows us there’s more to him than the garage-pop genre established in his debut album ‘Stab’ which was released in 2015.
After the success of his short run of UK shows in September, HOLY will be returning to the UK in February.
