The Utrecht Quartet Banji Have Released The Excellent Music Video For Their New Single ‘Chills’
The Utrecht quartet Banji have recently returned with a cinematic new music video for their bubbly new single ‘Chills’, directed by Pasqual Amade. The music video carries similarity to films such as Wes Anderson, thanks to its pastel colour scheme and stunning symmetry of the shots. It masterfully pairs with the single, creating a visual palette for bouncing indie-pop release.
The track itself is an uplifting anthemic indie track that is filled to the brim with up-beat percussion, jangly guitars, and ear melting vocals. It’s an incredibly alluring song that offers a bit of colour in this often dark and grey world.
Speaking on the new track, Morris Brandt explains: “Chills is about being in a rut. That feeling of how everything around you goes too fast to keep up with. It’s something everybody struggles with now and then, looking for grip. But when you can’t find that, you tend to give up and it feels like you’re stuck. Sometimes I get really tied up with myself, and it feels like my brain can’t really process what I’m trying to deal with. Being okay with that, acknowledging it, and taking a step back has helped me a lot.”
