Her first single since her BRITS 2020 Rising Star Award nomination, and the first track release from the forthcoming debut album. Premiered as Annie Macs Hottest Record on BBC Radio, just 20 year old Beabadoobee has created yet another confessional bedroom pop song with a DIY, swoon-pop aesthetic, ready to take 2020 by storm. 

Beabadoobee first came in 2017, when Bea Kristi began recording under the musical identity. Her first release, ‘Coffee’, gathered hundreds of thousands of streams in a matter of days. Since then, ‘Coffee’ has taken on new life within Tiktok in a sample of Powfu, now a worldwide chart-dominating hit. With a dedicated and ever-growing Gen-Z and Millennial fanbase, Bea has been referred to as the ‘spirit of Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus regenerated in 2020 as a bleach-haired teenager’ from Dazed. 

The song brings 90’s bedroom rock together with teen angst vibes to create a true dream pop track. With irresistible melodies, and cathartic lyricism, this track is an easy one to keep on repeat. Whether intentional or not, the timing of repeat also works perfectly.

Speaking of the track, Bea says “This song has end of 90s movie vibes, like you’re driving down a highway. It is pretty much me being angry at society, or people around me who I just don’t think know me and don’t care. I don’t want you to feel fucking sorry for me. I just want you to understand what I’ve been through.”

The music video for ‘Care’ was created during UK’s lockdown and offering a really powerful and experimental insight into Beabadoobee’s ‘Care’ vision. Within less than 24 hours of release, the video already has over fifty thousand views, and growing. 

Indisputably one of the most exciting breakthrough artists of the past year, Beabadoobee is one to keep your eye on. This new single brings more excitement for her LP ‘Fake It Flowers’ release later this year.
