Youth Sector Announce Their New EP ‘Adult Contemporary’ For Release On 18 Feb 2022 Via Family Values.

Youth Sector announce their new EP Adult Contemporary for release on 18 Feb 2022 via Family Values. The band are also sharing energetic new single ‘No.1 Bestseller’.

The track is a bouncy, funk-filled piece about short-term wellness fixes. Guitarist and lead vocalist Nick Tompkins explains: “The song is about the pursuit of ‘wellness’, and how it seems as though the industry and culture around wellness is pushing the onus of mental wellbeing onto the individual by selling us books, yoga programs, diet plans and anecdotal fixes.”

The rest of the EP revolves around the pursuits of the middle class, drawing on the stubborn side of human nature, wayward nationalism, the climate crisis, and short-term fixes for long-term problems.

The band have been supported on radio by BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Beats 1 and praised by the likes of Jack Saunders, DIY and DORK. When Youth Sector first emerged with 2020’s debut EP ‘Mundanity’, they immediately marked themselves out as a band capable of pulling at life’s chaotic threads with an unnerving dexterity.
