The Wolverhampton based artist has just dropped the new single ‘Knockin”. Taken from the forthcoming ‘State I’m In’ EP (out October via Beth Shalom Records).
It’s a more hard hitting track than previous releases, bringing forward a more garage rock sound. Slacker vocals lead swaying guitars into a chasm of self-reflective lyrics. The song encompasses the feeling of depression, an emotive sound that at times can be a overwhelming. It’s a beautiful composition that is delightfully infectious.
Speaking on the track Bryony explains: “’Knockin’ encapsulates my take on depression and how intrusive it is. It’s an outcry of ownership mixed with a whole lot of anger because it can hit at any moment and goes on the invisible attack. Which is why so much of the instrumentation is a new level of aggression for me, like distorting the hell out of the floor tom and using it as the introductory monotonous beat. It’s a reflection of what it’s like to be stuck in your own little head.”
