Formed on the skate parks of North London, DAZE began when childhood friends and guitarists Sam Hong and Luke Mayer resolved to form a band that combined their shared love of the cavernous reverb of shoegaze, and the lo-fi punch of classic indie rock. It wasn’t long before the recruited bassist Santino DeLauri at the bar of their local pub, followed shortly by drummer Oliver Brenner.
Since their unionship into the musical realm they have conquered many esteemed London venues, such as Dingwalls, The Camden Assembly and The Shacklewell Arms. The band are on a roll and are showing no signs of slowing down.
More recently they released their latest single ‘Big’, a reverb drenched track that pushes forward brooding guitars. It’s a vibrant bubble of shoegaze-indie that is brimming in dreamy sounds. ‘Big’ boasts the bands creativity not just in musical form but also visual, the video that accompanies this song sees the band recreating some of Tom Hanks most iconic roles. The video showcases the bands creativity and good spirit, creating a wholesome atmosphere (10 points for every reference you get).
