The Berkshire based band made serious waves last year whilst opening for Bloody Knees, Touts and Another Sky. They built a strong reputation for their explosive live performances. They were even Spotlight Artists on the Unsigned Guide.
The band were recently invited to the infamous Abbey Road Studios to record, a session which spawned their latest single ‘Shangri-La’. The single is taken from their latest EP that is set for release later this year.
‘Shangri-La’ is a slow paced grunge rock number that boasts the bands diverse sound. The track is a real roller coaster with moments of tranquility matched with explosive elements. It’s in this suspense and unscripted nature that makes Doops music so interesting.
Speaking on the track the band explains: “Shangri-La is an introspective look at the decay of the sums of our progress; how we give leeway to our faults with such complacency, shutting them out until they snowball into something we don’t recognise – without knowing the true impact/ consequences of the change or how it will shape our future.” They continue, “We are entirely familiar with the action needed to reappropriate for the better – but it’s human nature that denies us the opportunity of resolution.”
