Florence + The Machine announces her fifth studio album ‘Dance Fever’ and shares dance infused single ‘My Love’
Florence + The Machine has unveiled details of her fifth studio album, ‘Dance Fever’, out May 13th via Polydor Records. In addition to this Florence has also shared the new single and music video for ‘My Love’. The news follows a string of successful single releases, most notably the powerful ‘King’.
‘My Love’ brings forward a slightly newer sound for Florence, sitting further in the modern indie-pop/dance genre. This comes as no surprise as it was co-written with Dave Bayley from Glass Animals, who suggested adding synths to what was originally an acoustic track. The end result is a chest thumping, euphoric release that has Florence’s ever powerful vocals soaring.
‘Dance Fever’ was recorded predominately in London over the course of the pandemic in anticipation of the world’s reopening. It conjures up what Florence missed most in the midst of lockdown -clubs, dancing at festivals, being in the whirl of movement and togetherness -and the hope of reunions to come. Something that is incredibly relatable.
