Foals have finally announced their much anticipated album ‘Life Is Yours’ and shared new single ‘2am’

Foals have revealed details of their new album, Life Is Yours‘, due June 17th via Warner Records. It follows the two-part, Mercury nominated Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, their first ever UK #1 album.

‘Wake Me Up’, the first cut from the album released in November last year, evokes pure Talking Heads-styled revelry. With disco-tinged guitars, percussive elements and a broad-spectrum of miscellaneous electronic hooks, it certainly marks a brighter outlook.

With ‘2am’, the second single from the project, there’s an equally resolute attempt to shake free the stagnation and isolation of the last two years. It remains light, untethered and encourages a kind of fresh optimism found in summer anthems.

The album also has the fingerprints of various producers among its varied track-list, from John Hill (Portugal The Man, Florence + The Machine) to Dan Carey (Tame Impala, Fontaines D.C.), it was finally conceived in Real World Studios near Bath.

Frontman Yannis Philippakis says, “This time we wanted to find a new way to express ourselves. We wanted to refocus and do something that shared a DNA throughout the songs: a physicality, a danceability, and with energy and joyousness. It’s definitely the poppiest record we’ve ever made.”

This comes as Foals were confirmed as Saturday night headliners at Latitude festival on July 23rd, a fitting capstone to their UK headline tour in April and May, including four sold-out nights at London’s Olympia. With performances marked for Leeds’ Sounds of the City and Glasgow’s TRSNMT in early July, Foals continue to be a renowned, must-see live performance powerhouse.
