London rock band Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes celebrate their upcoming residency at The Underworld with nasty new single ‘Parasite

After playing huge arena shows, including Alexandra Palace, you’d expect Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes to keep aiming higher and higher. Yet, refreshingly, here they have announced a 3 night residency at The Underworld, London, supporting a grassroots venue and returning to one of the first places they played. These shows are sure to be much more intimate and give you a rare chance to see this powerful band in this setting.

As well as this exciting news, the group have dropped a new single, ‘Parasite‘, a brutal and sinister track. From the start, the track is driven by a simple but ominous bassline that immediately sets the tone; this is not a pleasant track and there is some very sinister things going on.

His lyrics are equally nasty. Describing the worst guy you’ve ever met, the titular parasite, the imagery makes you feel deeply uncomfortable. The bridge is the hardest hitting section with the line “He thinks he’s a comedian, but you won’t be laughing in the morning when you’re trying to find a clinic with a free appointment” is sure to evoke a reaction. The drums mirror this aggression, building and building before into the chorus where the instruments let loose one final time.

The track was born from Frank absorbing the relationship issues of his friends through the phone, listening and soaking them up. In turn, Frank’s vocals here are vicious and you’ll listen to every word he has to say.
