Home Counties announce their unpredictable and ambitious debut album ‘Exactly As It Seems’ ahead of their UK headline tour

Home Counties have been nothing but consistent in surprising us with each release as they experiment with unpredictable sounds, song structures and vocals, and their latest track ‘Wild Guess’ is no exception to that. The song’s introduction is traditional but before you know it, you’re thrusted into joyous bedlam – which sums up this band pretty well. They’re continuously shapeshifting.

Alongside this release is the news of their debut album ‘Exactly As It Seems’; we can only hope that the mayhem continues as we get treated to 10 new songs. Thematically, it seems the album is tied together with the idea of day-to-day life and the reliability of modern living, financial stress and growing older, yet coupled with a sound that is riddled with jubilation.

Guitarist Conor summed up their ethos for the era of music they’re about to enter when he said: “My life is ruined cos I can’t afford rent, but I’m gonna dance about it.”

Celebrating this body of work, the six-piece will be hosting a headline tour across the UK this coming May. With their desire to prioritise the beauty in the ordinary and their newfound appreciation for a dance-orientated sound, you can only imagine the ambitious live sets you will witness from Home Counties next year.

Debut album ‘Exactly As It Seems’ is out on 3rd May 2024 via Submarine Cat Records.
