After much anticipation IDLES have announced LP #3 ‘Ultra Mono’, set for release September 25th via Partisan Records. In addition to this they have also dropped the latest single ‘Ground’, a thumping war cry urging the listener to join them in battle. It’s a massive sounding track that is extremely fresh yet carries IDLES snarling sound.

Speaking on the track frontman Joe Talbot said: “We wanted to write a song that embodied self-belief, and gave us self-belief – a counter-punch to all the doubt we build up from all the noise we so easily let in. We wanted to make the sound of our own hearts’ marching band, armed with a jack hammer and a smile. We wanted to make the sound of our engine starting. So we did. Thank you.”

Ahead of the release IDLES will also be hosting a series of three live performances from an iconic studio space (as of yet to be announced) on August 29th & 30th. Tickets for these exclusive streams can be found here.

The new album that follows on from the critically acclaimed ‘Joy As An Act Of Resistance’ is a battle cry, as opposed to a manifesto. Be prepared to for IDLES most visceral and poignent release yet.
