IDLES have dropped the fourth single ‘Model Village’ taken from their forthcoming third LP ‘Ultra Mono’ (out September 25th via Partisan Records).
‘Model Village’ is a throwback to the bands more anthemic and chorus driven sound. Boasting their ability to craft earworms that are delightfully infectious. Talbots signature biting vocals push through the fast paced percussion and janky guitars. It’s a sonic explosion that tells the tale of village mentality in the U.K.
It has it all, the hardest guy, the nuclear family dream, rose gardens, expensive drugs, rampant tabloid digestion and everything else that comes with life in small villages around the country. It again showcases their talent to give an insight into the reality of British life through their music.
Speaking on the track frontman Joe Talbot explains: “I hated growing up in a city that was really a town that was really a fishbowl. I left as soon as I could, only to realize the fishbowl didn’t exist…just the fish, and they’re everywhere.”
