IDLES have become one of the UK’s (if not worlds) most important live bands, their angst riddled, politically charged post-punk has captured a generation. Their voice soars high through the brains of those willing to listen, even those who aren’t can’t help but be captivated by their overpowering live performances.

I have been fortunate enough to see this band twice, with more times on the horizon. With every show they get more wild, ferocious and powerful. The release of their most recent album ‘Joy As An Act Of Resistance’ threw them into the limelight, reaching number 5 in the album charts, performances of Jools Holland and a tour schedule to make Ty Segall wince. They are in hot demand at the moment and for good reason.

As each month goes by the band tick off their bucket list and today they can add doing an NPR Tiny Desk Concert off said list. The stripped back set sees the band play ‘Never Fight A Man With A Perm’, ‘Mercedes Marxist’ & ‘Scum’. Expect the charisma of Joe Talbot, the sways of lee Kiernan and beautiful chest of Bobo. Watch as IDLES cement their mark on the NPR Tiny Desk.
