New indie group FIZZ, featuring dodie, Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown, drop another single ahead of their debut album

Following on from their previous singles, ‘High In Brighton’ and ‘Hell Of A Ride’, indie-pop group FIZZ have dropped the third single from their upcoming album ‘The Secret To Life’.

This time around, the group have opted for a much softer sound, ruminating on nostalgia and lost love. It tells the story of two exes and the confusing emotions that can arise from reconnection.

Vocally, the track is led by Orla Gartland, whose breathy voice suits the softer tone perfectly. There is an intimacy to her delivery that makes the track feel personal while still poppy. The track drifts along at a measured pace, like a HAIM track, both confident and easy-going.

The instrumentation is much more reserved than the other two singles. Backed mainly by a skipping drum beat and subtle guitars/bass, it leaves Gartland’s voice at the centre of the mix. Vocal harmonies drift in and out of the background, coming together to create gorgeous soundscapes, made all the better by the dreamy production (Peter Miles).
