Hardly Art have added yet another all powerful indie punk band to their already talented and impressive roster, introducing The Julie Ruin a band dripping in angst and raw energy. Their Hardly Art debut record ‘Hit Reset’ will hit the shelves in multiple formats 8th July and will be the bands first full length since 2013’s ‘Run Fast’.
Regarding the upcoming release lead singer Kathleen Hanna (Also Bikini Kill & Le Tigre) explains “I was way more honest lyrically on this record because we’d been on the road together and I felt more confident taking risks in front of my bandmates,” adding “I’ve written about my personal bouts with illness, abuse, sexism and how hard it is for me to walk away from people even when they are toxic Tasmanian Devils before, but not in this way.”
To get a taste of what to expect watch the lead single ‘I Decide’ lyric video an infectious punk belter dripping in female power, the visuals see’s Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield as she listens to the song for the first time at SXSW, which you can watch below.
