For a time The Mirror Trap (TMT) were one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. The 5 piece met at music college and it did not take long for them to form a connection, start writing music and in general start making a name for themselves.

After their album ‘Stay Young’ was released on their own label in 2014 the band were spotted in their home town of Dundee by none other than Brian Molko of Placebo. This lead to the band having the unique and spectacular opportunity of joining Brian and Placebo across Russia and their UK tour of 2015. The secret was finally out and no longer did TMT hide in the depths of Scotland.

Now the band are preparing for release of their latest full length ‘Simulations’ out 10th June via Riverman Records and recorded in the infamous Karma Studios in Thailand, which has seen the likes of The Libertines, Young Guns and Enter Shikari.

You can listen to their latest offering from the album ‘Piranhas’ a slow building thunderous clap of pure rock ‘n’ roll, a track about the poisonous society that we live in today, frontman Gary Moore explains –“We live in a society where the piss stream of neo-liberalism flows unchecked into every aspect of life. Competition is encouraged and forced upon us. We have to compete in schools, at work, in love, there is no place for compassion or community. The weak are to be mercilessly crushed.
