Krooked Tongue had a fantastic start for such a new band in 2019, their debut single ‘I Wanna Steal Your Car’ was a spotify playlist favourite and their debut U.K tour was a total success. They built a strong reputation for their incendiary live shows.
Today the band return with their sophomore single ‘Girls With Knives’, a frantic rock banger that escalated from beginning to end. The jagged edged opening leads the listener into a sense of false calm only to blow your head off towards the end. A crescendo of guitar and percussion explode in an almighty end, this matched by an infectious chorus makes it a total earworm.
Speaking on the track the band explain, “Girls with Knives talks stereotypes. It discusses how people judge people based upon their prior knowledge of what they see, and, in this scenario, it’s applied to a night out in the city. It discusses the power struggle and the perceived divides between authority figures and those deemed to be lesser than.”
