Lady Bird Return With Ferocious New Single ‘Infants’, Taken From Their Forthcoming Debut Album ‘WE’
Riotous punks Lady Bird have returned with the second single ‘Infants’, taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘WE’, set for release February 25th via Alcopop! Records.
Lady Bird have built a strong reputation for their high energy, snarling punk that captures the trials and tribulations of working class life, delivered with an emotive yet tongue in cheek sensibility. It’s delightfully anarchic yet fervently poignent, it’s music that captures your ear. It’s a path the band have been driving down since the release of their 2018 EP ‘Social Potions’, there’s no doubt that the full length will be filled to the brim with the everything you’d expect and more.
‘Infants’ captures the band’s ability to create fast paced, neck-breaking punk music that will have you white-knuckling the rail whilst you mosh your brains out your ears. It kicks off with a distorted, pulsing bass that is quickly backed up by hard hitting percussion and notorious snarls from Alex Deadman.
Speaking on the new single Deadman said: “It’s a story of Don’s (Bird-frontman) trials and escapades in primary education, between him and his accomplished guideline snapper who also appears in the story of Reprisal. As adults they bump into one another and share a drink before getting arrested under the unruly behaviour of the[character]…what ever happened to having a nice drink with an old friend aye!?”
Lady Bird continue to up the ante with each release for this album, creating a real buzz around it’s future release. If the past two singles ‘Factory Fool’, and ‘Infants’ is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat!
