Picture this. Psych pop melted with fuzzy riffs, married in a beautiful sunburst, doused in ambient euphoria. Follow the single down a path of pleasure and discovery, hand in hand with Les Bods.
The trio from Brighton is living up to their ‘GARAGE-PSYCH’ label, with dreamy technicolored vibes and swirling vocals, their latest single ‘Free Your Mind’ is a confident follow-on from their debut track ‘People’ (released last year). The band came into inception in 2019 and have since gained themselves an admiring audience, despite having only had one single officially released. Their debut offering received critical acclaim and reached fans all around the globe, skyrocketing out of Brighton’s underground scene – these aren’t a group to be taken lightly.
Expertly produced by Rob Quickenden at Ford Lane Studios and mastered by the wonderful Dick Beetham (Alt-J and Drenge), ‘Free Your Mind’ tells the tumultuous tale of battling your mind whilst facing crippling self-doubt. Taking on from King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s unique styling, the band emphasise themes of overcoming invasive, negative thoughts and moving on down the road less traveled.
Sumptuously soaked in a fuzzed-up haze, Les Bods unleash what is sure to become their staple electrified sound. Starting slow and sullen before diving into heavy bass lines and thumping drumbeats, sultry vocals kick in. With a style all too beautifully composed, ‘Free Your Mind’ offers a wild escape in true rock fashion that dazzles and amazes. Two minutes and fifty-five seconds of pure psych goodness allows for a totally immersive experience.
