Alt-pop duo Dirty Nice have released their newest single, ‘Shoes‘, a follow-up to their previous tracks, ‘This Is Gonna Hurt‘ and ‘Sophie, What’s Up?‘
Dirty Nice is ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ composer Charlie Pelling’s musical collaboration with Lisbon based musician Mark Thompson.
Full of choppy, upbeat melodies and lyrics that make you smile, it’s no surprise the duo dropped ‘Shoes’ ahead of summer as it perfectly encapsulates what it’s like to be so in love with someone that you just want to walk in their shoes.
The synth-pop sound is made whimsical and playful, creating a weirdly addictive beat layered over Pelling and Thompson’s honeyed vocals. The single proves how full of fun, creativity and imagination the duo are; the consistency to their craft while creating something original is what makes them so interesting.
Their beloved eccentricity is on full display in the music video for ‘Shoes‘ which features anthropomorphised footwear.
