With a plethora of fantastic collaborations under their belt, Dizzy has emerged with their latest offering ‘Primrose Hill At Midnight’ which features the indie trio, Flyte.
Hailing from Canada, Dizzy have spread their wings and made waves across the globe with their infectious sound and unstoppable attitude.
The enigmatic marriage of the two bands offers a delightful take on ‘Primrose Hill’, which originally featured on their sophomore full-length record ‘The Sun And Her Scorch’. ‘Primrose Hill’ holds its place as the penultimate track on their latest EP ‘Separate Places’, which is wholly dedicated to reimagining their sound with the help of other rock veterans.
Featuring soft vocals and delicate keyboard flourishes, the introduction of a subdued drum rhythm uplifts the track and injects a vein of energy. The male vocals offer a stark contrast, changing the tone and direction of the single, before coming to a full-bodied crescendo which sees the layering of vocals atop thrilling instrumentation.
About the new EP, lead singer Katie divulges: “The Separate Places EP has allowed songs from The Sun and Her Scorch to go on tour without us. Following some of our favourite artists around the globe from Birmingham, London, New York and back to Toronto. Each song has been reimagined. ‘Primrose Hill’ is now fiery and tough. ‘The Magician’ and ‘Ten’ returned to a state of naive, solemn bliss. ‘Beatrice’ gains solace with felt piano and harmony and ‘Sunflower’ sounds like something out of a Super Mario Brothers video game. It’s kind of a ride.”
