Everything is coming into focus,” alt-rock outfit Honey Lung stated ahead of the release of their new single ‘Nothing‘. “We know what we are and where we are going.” It’s a sudden cloud-parting sense of clarity the band capture beautifully in the opening moments of fresh offering ‘Nothing‘. We’ll give you a clue: a little melodic guitar lick gets the rewind treatment. Sorry, Led Zep heads, no satanic love notes here just a bliss few seconds of a band finding their way into a dusky, guitar-gnar groove that stirs grunge and indie-rock into the pot before adding that sweet Honey Lung hit.

Give ‘Nothing‘ some listening love:

Like a whole lot of us, Honey Lung got a sip of the 90s Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr juice via their parents’ car journey playlist (I have a bus driver that had ‘Mellon Collie‘ fever to thank), and in new single ‘Nothing‘ that classic knee-deep-in-distortion sound coupled with heartfelt lyrics definitely gets a Honey Lung update. We’re a little foggy on what ‘Nothing‘s seductive refrain “pour your darling over me” really means but it feels heavy and addictive and we wanna take a dip.

This month the band head out for some UK shows with Basement before embarking on a headline tour of their own in November. The busy bunch will be swinging by The Crofters Rights in Bristol on December 4th. Surely this means even more new music in the making? We’re all ears.
