Everyone’s favourite melodramatic pop-princess is back. Adorned with lush vocals and the summer-iest of auras, Lorde has released the second offering from her upcoming third album, ‘Stoned At The Nail Salon’.
Following on from the powerful and bold lead-single ‘Solar Power’, her newest cut offers an even more enticing preview of what’s yet to come. Ruminations of coming of age and reaching adulthood are the main themes of the track, an abundance of thoughts come together in a wholly resonating lyricism and a soft vocal performance. Lana Del Rey-esque, Lorde’s maturity in her sound shows perfectly through the use of sultry tones and delicate piano strokes.
Talking on the track Lorde divulges, “This song is sort of a rumination on getting older, settling into domesticity, and questioning if you’ve made the right decisions. I think lots of people start asking those questions of themselves around my age, and it was super comforting to me writing them down, hoping they’d resonate with others too. I used this song as a dumping ground for so many thoughts…”
The upcoming album, ‘Solar Power’ is set to be a stormer, being environmentally kind and sonically fantastic, Lorde’s third full length offering is set to be the best yet.
