Breakout Singer-Songwriter Mimi Webb Announces Debut Album ‘Amelia’ For Release On March 3rd 2023
The announcement follows the release of the album’s lead single, ‘Ghost of You’, on Friday 7th October.
The Stuart Price and RISC-produced track was released alongside an aesthetic music video, directed by Fa and Fon Watkins.
Mimi Webb’s is currently on her first ever headline North American tour at the time of the announcement.
The news follows a successful summer for Mimi, including a string of UK festival appearances, as well as a performance at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in London.
“Announcing my first ever album is such an important moment in my career that honestly, sometimes I wasn’t even sure would happen,” Mimi admits. “But after 3 years of hard work, I just can’t wait to share this body of work with all of you who have helped me get to where I am today.”
She adds: “The album is named ‘Amelia’, my full first name, as there are two sides of me that I want people to get to know. There’s Amelia, the girl from the UK countryside who loves to be at home with her family, friends, and dogs; and Mimi, the pop artist who loves to be up on stage traveling the world. It was important for me to capture this duality with songs written for both of those girls, and I’m excited for you all to get to know them!”
She has also announced ‘The Amelia Tour’, which will see her performing the new album across Europe and the UK for a series of thirty headline dates.
The tour will begin in Spain, before travelling around Europe, heading to the UK to conclude with a date at the O2 Academy Brixton in London.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Thursday 20th October at 9am local time.
Fans can buy presale tickets on Tuesday 18th October at 9am local time by pre-ordering the album, while Spotify Fan First presale begins Wednesday 19th October at 9am local time.
