Incorporating all manner of social and political issues, deux furieuses has tirelessly delivered a number of tracks since the band’s inception in 2013. With Radio X’s John Kennedy, among numerous others, touting the duo to produce big things over the next twelve months, May 20th sees the band release their debut album ‘Tracks Of Wire’.
Available to stream now via Soundcloud, the mid-album track ‘Kill Us’ serves as quite the delectable taster for the upcoming release. Brimming with spectral wails between verses underpinned by dissonant guitar work, the track produces something strangely captivating. Drawing on a range of influences throughout their work, it is clear why there are regular mentions of PJ Harvey and bands such as Bikini Kill and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Having also featured in Thomas Anderson’s BBC Introducing playlist last year, the recognition and admiration from a number of figures in the industry clearly highlights the potential of deux furieuses going forward. With the ‘Tracks Of Wire’ likely to be armed to the teeth with all of the band’s trademark fury, this could be the dawn of a band roaring out their message for the foreseeable future.
