Somewhere along the line, Techno and Punk had a bust up and decided they were on opposite teams. Sad story, considering they both share a love of the kind of thundering noise that smashes through your inner cortex and obliterates the brain’s soggy, grey matter. So, here at CLUNK, we’ve decided to do our part to get these two talking again. In an effort to heal the divide, we deliver you this great news: tech-noise duo Giant Swan and punk godzillas IDLES are going to be sharing a stage later this year. Happy families.

Hailing (roaring, shouting, fist-smashing…) from the Bristol scene, these two bands are both notorious for delivering killer live performances. Those lucky enough to have a ticket to the sold out show at London’s Alexandra Palace in December can expect gold-star carnage. Guitar pedals, snarling throat-noise and disgusting, lovely distortion aplenty.

Get some Giant Swan in ya:

Giant Swan had this to say about IDLES and the support slot: “Nothing more inspiring than seeing your friends grow and carve a path for others to follow. Thank you for including us in this part of the journey. Grateful and fucking EXCITED!!!” Heart, explode.

The last stop on their biggest headline tour to date, IDLES’ show at Alexandra Palace is set to be a triumphant end to a landmark twelve months for the band, which included an emotional performance at Glastonbury and a Mercury Prize nomination. What a year.
