London-based Dirty Hit extraordinaire The Japanese House has delivered the third offering from her forthcoming sophomore LP in the shape of ‘Sunshine Baby’.

Amber Bain continues to deliver dreamy soundscapes, creating nostalgic atmospheres with her visceral tracks – which is incredibly audible here. ‘Sunshine Baby’, like the title suggests, feels like summer; gentle acoustic guitars and drums chug the track along, with delicate synthesiser and piano motifs decorating the sonic walls of the track.

Co-produced by George Daniel (The 1975, Charli XCX, Pale Waves) and Chloe Kraemer (Polly Money, Rina Sawayama, Rosie Lowe), the track feels organic, despite the plethora of dazzling electronica on display.

Bain’s vocal is as smooth as ever, velvet atop of an equally soft instrumental, matched effortlessly by guest vocals from The 1975‘s Matty Healy. Bain’s sophomore record is shaping up to be one of the most exciting of 2023, with three exceptional tracks already under her belt in support of the record.

The Japanese House also announces a headline tour of the United Kingdom in October, with general on sale tickets taking place on Friday 19th May.

‘In The End It Always Does’ out June 30th via Dirty Hit.
