Hill Farm’s iconic festival returns for it’s 25th anniversary! Packed full of certified industry stars (and some rising), here’s our take on those you’ll definitely want to pen into your schedule!
Lauran Hibberd – Friday, Main Stage
Quirky rocker Lauren Hibberd‘s has brought the fun-loving fortissimo of mid-2000s rock to the forefront of her unforgettable style, and is well loved by all of us here at CLUNK. Her gracing of the festival’s main stage marks one of many appearances in the lead up to her exciting debut album ‘Garageband Superstar‘. Bright eyed, blasphemous pop-rock is bound to be a highlight of your weekend!
Joely – Friday, Main Stage
An Oxford local bearing the sonic equivalent of a warm cup of cocoa on an autumnal afternoon, Joely‘s cooly delivered, lovingly crafted folk-pop musings have delivered her to some impressive heights. Reaching semi-final status at the UK Songwriting Contest (with a five-star rating to boot), this surely makes her appearance on Truck Festival‘s main stage one to be remembered. Plus, it will easily act as seriously well-earned downtime between some of the more chaotic acts of the festival!
Sorry – Sunday, The Nest
London art-rockers Sorry have been keenly watched by many an underground scene lover since their single ‘Wish’ dropped way back in 2017. Their debut album 925 brought the marriage of post-2000s nihilism with femme-fatale themes in a dark, avant garde, grungy package that has lead them to demo tapes, collab singles and a whole host of appearances across the UK. If you want some edge on your experience, don’t miss em.
Crawlers – Sunday, The Nest
Fresh off a once in a lifetime support slot with My Chemical Romance as well as a headlining US tour, the emo-revival alt-rock outfit are boundless in their quest to bring a fresh take on an era of music that had so many an eyeliner bottle rolling empty on the floor. Bring your best fishnets, strap your boots as tight as they can go and paint those nails black, baby.
shame – Saturday, Market Stage
One of the hottest underground names in post-punk is primed and ready for an atonal apocalypse of sweaty limbed antics this year at Truck Festival! In recent months the wretched reverb-washed South Londoners have gone on many an adventure: Istanbul with black midi, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound, France’s Pointu Festival…shame are at the top of their game, and not to be skipped on. Get yer knee pads on and prepare for something truly special.
Courting – Saturday, Market Stage
Nice Swan Records’ supercharged Scouser four-piece is at the forefront of the ever growing Brit-pop revival, and have no qualms with throwing sense and sensibility aside in the name of a brain-shatteringly good time. Their untamable grit, wit and charm, paired with the very same wry smile that’s brought acts such as Sports Team and Dry Cleaning to similar acclaim, makes them the perfect chaperone to guide festival goers to the very depths of, how do they say, losing thy tiny mind. Don’t miss ’em.
Easy Life – Sunday, Main Stage
Leicester’s warm, summer-breeze five piece needs no introduction. Over five years, the heights easy life have reached have been met with a velocity that is the very antithesis of their image, one that combines hip-hop with lovingly lazy, laid back instrumentals, all held together with punchy rhythm and vocal sincerity. With a new album just over the horizon and new singles falling from the sky, it’s the perfect time to catch these boys – their appeal comes from their relatable, grounded nature, making them the perfect antidote to the exhausted punter drifting their way through the festival grounds after an out-of-this-world weekend.
Yard Act – Friday, Market Stage
Working class heroes and post-punk prodigies, boasting a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, a top spot debut album and a dirty-faced humour backing up their bustling, broadsided sound, Leeds’ Yard Act are nothing short of hot property. Sneering in the face of white-glove society with painstakingly upfront, satyrical lyricism and playful punkish presentation, they also exhibit an endearing sense of humility when off stage, enjoying a gentle chat over a holier-than-thou complex. Acting as a special guest afternoon appearance on the Market Stage, it’s be rude not to give them your time. Bring yer mates, get lairy.
