Pixey planted the seed of her talent in 2016 and has played: Liverpool Sound City, Live In Leeds, The Great Escape and sported attention from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio X, BBC Merseyside, BBC Lancashire and many more, she is indeed an exciting upcoming artist to keep an eye on. Her young voice can be seen as a combination of Kate Nash, London Grammar and Jessie Ware all mixed together with a sprinkle of indie surf alt-pop.
The release of her recent EP ‘Colours’ has been well awaited for with the deserved recognition she has caught through her single release of ‘Supersonic Love’ and some demo tracks. This outstanding piece of work takes you on a euphoric journey with her real life hitting lyrics alongside impeccable vocals and dreamy guitar melodies. The 5 track EP, written, produced and performed in the bedroom of Lizzie Hillesdon (Pixey), is full of the raw indie-pop.

The EP opens with her first single, ‘Supersonic Love’, which establishes the positive glittery tone seen across the record. Lizzie’s infectious lyrics combined with blissful fingerpicking launches the record off into an enhancing surround sound of freedom. ‘On My Own’ follows with uplifting guitar work that pushes the record into total festival-worthy freedom. Title track ‘Colors’ slows things down with a clean pop ballad, then ‘Hometown’ serves a noughties indie-rock feel accompanied with a homely sense of attitude. To finish the EP off is ‘Young’ a lively and liberating track that exhibits the wholesome life of the younger generation. Fun, freedom and dreamy guitar, what more could you want from a debut EP?
