Following the release of her latest record ‘I Inside The Old Year Dying’, PJ Harvey announces huge show for Summer 2024 in Gunnersbury Park, London
Following widespread praise with the release of her latest record ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying‘, as well as a sold out run of UK/EU tour dates, generating five-star reviews across the board, PJ Harvey will be returning to London next summer bringing her beguiling live show to Gunnersbury Park on Sunday, August 18, 2024, for her only London summer performance of 2024, with support from Big Thief, Tirzah, and Shida Shahabi.
The only artist, so far, to ever win the prestigious Mercury Music Prize twice (both in 2001 and 2011), PJ Harvey has certainly established herself as a vital voice in alternative rock, unafraid to grapple with raw and emotional topics within her lyrics. Both bold and compelling in equal measure, this will be a must-see event next year.
Speaking about the special show PJ Harvey said: “I’m grateful to Gunnersbury Park for inviting me to curate this event. I have chosen what I feel to be some of the most exciting artists working today. With them I hope to be able to give the audience an emotional, heartening, and uplifting experience.”
Grammy-nominated American folk-rock four-piece Big Thief will be supporting PJ Harvey at the capital, following the release of their double-LP, ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You‘, last year. Also supporting PJ Harvey is the genre-less and boundary-pushing Tirzah, showcasing sensitive melodies and rhythmic obsessions, as within her latest album triplove9…???.
The third act supporting Harvey is Shida Shahabi, following the release of her second album ‘Living Circle‘. She has scored a selection of short films and feature lengths due to the unusually immersive soundscapes that are present throughout her work.
West London’s Gunnersbury Park has become well-established as one of London’s favourite outdoor venues, playing host to a series of concerts with a vibrant mix of genres. In 2023 it hosted sold-out five-star appearances from boygenius, JOJI, KYGO, Limp Bizkit, and N-Dubz, being sure to create the same atmosphere once again next year.
