Winter is rapidly approaching and as such the weather is starting to make a turn, gone are the long days, warm evenings, and summer outfits. Now is the time to hibernate and get real cosy for the months ahead. Thankfully, the Brighton outfit Raffles has released their latest single ‘Dream Trip To Korea’, which is the perfect track to soundtrack the last golden rays of Autumn.
The track begins with a fluid synth that opens up into a simple yet effective percussive element, pathing the way for jangly guitars to take the lead. All these elements create the perfect sound cushion for the stunning, harmonious vocals that breeze through. It’s a stunning track that is frightfully upbeat, yet remains terminally chill throughout. It’s hard not to fall in love with their mellowed out sound, that is nothing short of a warm embrace.
Speaking on the track the band explained: “I wrote the track acoustically on quite an old guitar at my parent’s
house, so it started off quite mellow and then Michael slapped the arpeggiated synth under it and a bop was born.”
‘Dream Trip To Korea’ is arguably Raffles most upbeat release, but it’s arguably their strongest. It blends their fun and easy songwriting with an energetic sensibility, making a daringly infectious track. This is an exciting release that has us eager to hear more.
