Following the release of ‘Mayday’ in January, the Dublin singer returns with her second single of the year, ‘Whatever’s Inconvenient

The track leans into the fusion of pop and country, with her trademark witty lyrics at the forefront of the track as she examines her sense of self and her knack for throwing herself into ill-fated relationships. The infectious tune drips with satire, with references to Heat magazine and Mark E. Smith, alongside her distinctive vocals which haunt the track.

The melody is layered and soft, allowing the singer’s vocals to shine through, proving that CMAT can not only write beautiful songs, but has a voice to match too. It was also hinted that this track is the first single to be taken from CMAT’s upcoming second album.

The track comes alongside a video shot in Kos, Greece by Collective Film. Whatever’s Inconvenient was recorded and produced with Bonny Light Horseman’s Josh Kaufman (Cassandra Jenkins, Anais Mitchell) in upstate New York, with additional production and mix by Matias Tellez (Girl in Red) at his studio in Bergen, Norway.
