The Aussie 5-Piece Return With Stunning New Single ‘In The Wake Of Your Leave’, Taken From Forthcoming LP

2021 was a tough year for us all, particularly musicians and the industry as a whole. However, despite this the Aussie 5-piece ended the year with a bang after performing their single, ‘the angel of 8th ave’, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Watch Gang Of Youths on Stephen Colbert here:

After a whirlwind 12 months touring arenas alongside Sam Fender, the group have managed to kick-start the new year with the release of their latest single, ‘in the wake of your leave’. The classic Gang of Youths sound is alive and present in this latest release and it’s the exact track you know you’re going to want to see in the sunshine, live at this year’s festival circuit.

Despite the sorrowful lyrics in ‘in the wake of your leave’, the song couldn’t feel more optimistic. The dreamy vocals of David Le’aupepe really will propel this song into your favourite playlist.

We’ve been treated to 4 other songs By Gang of Youths which will follow in their third studio album set to be released late next month. There’s a real mix in all the songs, what always stands out in Gang of Youths songs is the impressive tones of strings, keys and drums. It’s set to be an impressive release.

There’s no denying that 2022 is going to be another strong year for Gang of Youths. With a new album, a string of UK headline dates and then a tour of North America and an appearance at Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival alongside Lewis Capaldi, Wolf Alice and the DMA’S, Gang of Youths have the world at their feet, and this single is another step forward to worldwide recognition.

The album ‘angel in realtime.’ is available to pre-order now. Formats include digital, double white vinyl and CD, while HMV and select independent stores offer a special edition of the vinyl which feature an alternate cover.
