Bristolian post-punk renegades return with frantic new release ‘I Don’t Feel’, the first cut off their forthcoming debut EP
The post-punk specialists Saloon Dion kick their 2023 off with the energetic, groove-laden single ‘I Don’t Feel’, taken from the bands debut EP which arrives later this year.
‘I don’t Feel’ continues the bands ability to craft high-octane energy music that comes in a tongue-in-cheek delivery, as always through the smiles and laughter comes a poignent social commentary. As the band explain: “’I Don’t Feel’ is a song about being reluctant to seek help from others. What it isn’t, is a song about having no feeling, but more of choosing what to feel and when to feel it. It speaks of the barriers we all put up to protect ourselves, no matter the damage they may do in the long run”.
Sonically, ‘I Don’t Feel’ brings forward their every crushing sound. The Weighty percussion strikes down like a hammer on an anvil, whilst the guitars and bass dance insymbiosis in the quiet moments, creating a song that is equal parts powerful yet groovy. It’s the epitome of the bands sound, one that is powerful yet soft, strong yet vulnerable, it’s masterful work and acts as proof to as why they’re one of the UK’s fastest up and coming outfits.
The accompanying video also boasts the bands charm and humour, seeing them take part in a hand shaking course. There is even a guest appearance from one half of Getdown Services. It’s an hilarious and creative watch crafted by the Clump Collective.
