Manchester indie pop band The Lottery Winners drop the energetic ‘Money’ featuring Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder

After a very successful 2022 with sold-out shows in American and the UK, The Lottery Winners have a new album on the way. ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’, out on 28th April, features several artists including Boy George and Frank Turner and, in this latest single, Manchester legend Shaun Ryder.

‘Money’ does not take itself seriously. It’s a fun pop tune about money (surprisingly) or lack thereof. The band takes a very real anxiety that everyone can relate to and turns it into a funky pop banger. Alongside the group vocals and simple lyrics is Ryder’s verses and interludes. You can’t help but smile when he drawls “I loooove money.” The feature is as silly as the rest of the song but it works brilliantly.

The band sound like they’re having so much fun. The guitars are bouncy, the drums groovy and there’s even some saxophone to up the cheesiness even more. This energy is surely meant to be seen live and, luckily for you, The Lottery Winners are hitting the road very soon.
