The pandemic has pushed many of us towards our creativity. It’s been so refreshing to see so many people embrace their artistic sides, start their own projects and in general live for themselves more.

One said artist that has used this time to create music is Alex Cherney, the multi-instrumentalist and film maker from Long Island, New York. Under the moniker of Rey he has dropped the latest single ‘Open’, taken from the forthcoming debut album (out July 28th).

It’s a mellowed out sound that is lead by the flowing guitar and soft vocals. A nostalgic sound that is remiscent of Steely Dan but also has hints of War On Drugs and Tame Impala. ‘Open’ is a rambling track that is designed for the open road, an extremely sweet-sounding release.
