‘Bed Bug’ is the newest single from London based foursome Heavy Heart who first came onto the music scene back in 2016, having started as a bedroom project in a flat in south London. The band has since developed a textured alt-rock sound that often incorporates subtle elements of dream pop.
Frontwoman, Anna Vincent, said of their sound: “We’re interested in dynamics; in something introspective and intimate followed immediately by something searing and powerful; a blossoming, beautiful rage. Although there’s melody and heart permeating everything we do, there’s also an energy, a heaviness. Sometimes the only remedy for melancholy is to drown it out with noise.”
‘Bed Bug’ is a perfect example of this; a nocturnal love song exploring obsession and lethargy, sex, blood and dirty sheets in a dreamy soundscape layered with guitar, a touch of synth and Vincent’s haunting vocals. The track is the first of three set to be released over the next few months that have been mixed and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Gabe Wax (The War On Drugs, Fleet Foxes, Soccer Mommy).
