Bursting out of the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, Indonesia comes psychedelic indie band SMSR. Consisting of five childhood friends they create a dreamy, spaced out soundscape. It’s hard not to drift away when listening to their music.
Their latest release ‘Gentle Seed’ is a perfect example of their hazy sound. From the opening notes you can feel the music begin to cushion you. Offering a warm, synth driven experience. Their strength comes from their ethereal vocals and unconventional song structures. Although peaceful it is unpredictable.
In a short time the band have built a strong following, gaining 20.5k overall streams on Spotify (a number ever growing). If the quality of music remains to this high standard then SMSR are going to be huge.
