We Hung Out With The Legends That Are Sports Team During Their Jaunt In Glasgow, Scotland
Fifteen minutes before stage, Sports Team can be found dancing and drinking around their dressing room. As beers pass from person to person, it’s Dave Dobbyn’s ‘Slice of Heaven’ that accompanies the buzz of their pre-show antics.
Walking to stage, Robbie Williams ‘Let Me Entertain You’ echoes through the speakers as to introduce the six-piece to Glasgow’s SWG3. And with fans instantly on shoulders and mosh pits opening up – it is chaos from the get-go.
They are self-proclaimed as the “best live band” and I’d be lying if I said that isn’t true. As far as shows go, this one is full to the brim with energy, talent and mayhem. Not to mention lead singer Alex even shares their bottle of buckfast with a fan in true rock ’n’ roll spirit.
The night ends with hit-tracks Kutcher and Stanton as Alex collapses in to the joyous group of fans, his feet can be seen bouncing along the skyline as are the grins beaming face to face of the band. This is no ordinary show, this feels like a home gig which I guess is an ode to the fanbase and Sports Team’s inherent outgoing and exciting sense of community. One for the books, this is not the end.
