Christmas songs are generally pretty shit and annoying, the monotonous sounds of Michael Bublè have been overplayed since November and franky I am sick of it.
Thankfully we live in a time where we can seek alternatives to what is crammed down our throat during the festive season. One said alternative source is Australian band Sun Sap and their Christmas single ‘Santa, Are You My Real Dad?’, as is in the title we see the lead singer toying with the idea that the jolly bastard that is Santa is in fact his father.
This lighthearted Christmas song is the very distraction one needs during the season of awful music, the jangly guitars, subtle solos and soft percussion ease the listener towards the entertaining lyrics.
