The London based Super Paradise (originally from Milan) have recently emerged onto the garage rock scene with their debut album ‘Quençebo’. Originally written and recorded by lead singer and guitarist Francesco Roma in his hometown, Milan, the record sees the collaboration of Nico Spreafico on backing vocals and now as guitarist in the live line-up. Since moving to the UK, they took on keyboardist Juliet Styles and drummer Bradley Smith to join to create the full line up.

The album opens with ‘The F.C.’ a track that starts with a wave of synths that slowly slips into a dreamy indie number that still brings the noise towards the end. This is followed by the quick fire ‘Ties’ an absolute belter that can only be described as explosive.

This explosivity is felt and continued through the album and is what makes the album so listenable, it is a ferocious ball of energy that shifts and molds to a variety of genres such as garage-rock and indie dream pop. However, it doesn’t get convoluted nor is it jarring.

Tracks such as the cover of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends’ and ‘Beirut’ show that Super Paradise are not your run of the mil garage rock band, they have the ability to craft a wide range of music with a variety of sounds. Not only will this keep their music fresh but it will make them an exciting band to watch.

The album comes to a close with ‘Tonight’ an instrumental that tucks you into bed and nestles you off to sleep, the perfect ending for what was a splendid listen. The album acts as an introduction to the band’s sounds but leaves you wanting more, trust us you are going to want to keep an eye on these guys.
