Self-proclaimed saviors of rock The Darkness announce their upcoming new album and accompanying tour.
It’s time to dig out the lycra and start warming up your falsetto because The Darkness are back and ready to unleash their new album, ‘Motorheart’. Released on October 15th through Cooking Vinyl, it will be available on deluxe cd, coloured vinyl, and tape to satisfy every kind of collector. If you preorder before June 10th then you also get the chance to preorder tickets for their UK tour in November and December. Given their live reputation, it’s a chance you’re going to want to take.
With his trademark humour, lead singer and guitarist Justin Hawkins has said “The time has come, the walrus said… to put your fookin pants on your head and rock like Satan is eating your private parts with a pointy fork! Yes, we, The Darkness, are the fuck back on tour, praise Satan’s better half… come and party with us like it’s the last orders at the last chance saloon. Which it may well be, but I wouldn’t like to comment any further on that”. So that clears that up.

We’ll get the first taste of ‘Motorheart’ when The Darkness releases the first single from it next month and we’re assured it will have all of the trademarks of a The Darkness song, blazing solos, and overblown pomp. With a back catalogue of classics such as ‘Growing On Me’ and ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’, you better dust off your air guitar because The Darkness is coming to show us what it is to shred.
