The Only Ocean‘s latest release ‘Watch It Fall’ is an overwhelming barrage of indie rock with sprinkles of psychedlia and shoegaze. Driven forward by chopped up guitars, pulsing bassline and jagged percussion. Strong, pained vocals take lead, luring the listener in.
It’s an seductive single that tackles the complexity of identity and mental health.
Speaking on the track frontman Wesley Hill explains “It’s the feeling of being afraid to be in your shoes and wanting to become someone else to fit in. It’s the feeling of hiding and being afraid of your truest form and willing to be someone else in front of loved ones and strangers. The feeling of constantly putting on an act or show and then losing yourself.”
