Cornwall’s Very Own The Ultra Violets Return With Their Anthemic, Arena Ready Single ‘Watergate Bay’.

On the back of their storming debut single, Cornwall’s very own The Ultra Violets are back with yet another anthem in ‘Watergate Bay’. After a gentle plucked guitar opening, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is going to be a jaunty indie tune. When the rest of the band crash in though, ‘Watergate Bay’ comes to life in an explosion of rock swagger.

As the verse chugs along, the vocal harmonies between Marc and lead singer Perran speak of how well these two work together. The real talking point here though is the huge chorus. Not dropping a beat, The Ultra Violets barrel in to a chorus that is so instantly singable that it’s no wonder there’s a video of 6000 people singing along to it recently at the Mcfly gig at Eden Project.

There are tempo shifts here as well to keep ‘Watergate Bay’ interesting and to give you a little rest before the chorus comes straight back in to burrow itself nicely into your head. ‘Watergate Bay’ is the sound of a band that is already in their stride with a sound that is large enough to be playing the biggest stages. I can only imagine it won’t be too long before The Ultra Violets will be gracing these larger stages and they’ll regularly be hearing thousands of crazed fans singing ‘Watergate Bay’ back at them.
