Falmouth, Cornwall is known for its stunning coastline, Pendennis Castle and of course its University but tucked away in this quaint little town is the energetic and explosive band Tinnedfruit. They are of a similar ilk to such bands like Thee Oh Sees and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Their blend of reverb laden vocals and psych out tangents is something to be adored as is their ferocious energy.

Their latest EP ‘Weird Candy’ is a frenzied collection of reverb laden hooks and pulsing percussion that will leave you a sweaty, twitchy mess. Across the four track EP you are subject to a barrage of pulsing and frantic guitars and percussion, with a healthy dose of reverb vocals. Opening track ‘Plastic Face’ provides a near seizure level of rhythm, bundled into a bag of explosiveness, this is a recurring theme through the ‘Weird Candy’ EP it and can be heard from beginning to end. The stand out track (although each song is fantastic) has to be closing track ‘Tattoo’, the four minute tangent is delightfully infectious and boasts the band’s ability to blend psych, punk and garage rock into one beautiful ball.

Each track brings a new level of excitement and although this is a quick dose of Tinnedfruit it leaves you satisfyingly exhausted.
