UPDATEKasabian tried to play a dirty PR trick with the announcement of Tom Meighan’s exit from the band. It was first published by The Sun that Tom was due in court for an alleged assault, we can now confirm that this is in fact true.

The longtime singer for Leicester rock band appeared in court today and pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-fiancee Vikki Ager on the night of April 9th. Meighan reportedly threw Ager across a room, grabbed her leg while she was seated in a chair, and also hit her on the head. Ager was reportedly left with bruises on her knees, elbow, and ankle, as well as “a reddening around her neck.” The assault reportedly took place in front of a child, who called 999 to report “a domestic incident was taking place.”

Tom has been handed an 18-month community order, including 200 hours of unpaid work (source: BBC & Pitchfork).
