Hailing all the way from Los Angeles, California indie-artist Wallice has has released her brand new track ’23’. Wallice‘s previous single ‘Punching Bag’ had repeat playtime on Steve Lemaq on BBC Radio 6 and from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1.
Listening to ’23’ the 22 year old talks about her excitement for her birthday and turning 23. It becomes clear throughout the song that Wallice has struggled with the expectations she feels she should have met at the age of 22 but hasn’t found herself meeting these ‘expectations’. A sentiment that will be shared by listeners her own age and beyond, let’s be honest we’re all striving for something unrealistic.
Not only has the track got such a fascinating storyline behind it but has been well put together in such away that it really brings joy to any ears it falls upon. I’m sure this will not be the last we hear of Wallice on this side of the pond.
